Things to Know Before Heading to Dallas

With Marian and Jackson touching down in ‘The Big D’ a few hours ago, Fall Toy Preview 2011 has officially arrived! Here is some information you may find helpful before your trip.

While the majority of the hand shaking and business talking will take place on the show floor next week, Dallas is booming with events where you can take your clients and colleagues after hours! First, don’t miss the best opportunity to network with the industry at the Fall Toy Preview Opening Night Party!

It takes place on Tuesday, October 4 from 5:30-7:00pm in the Trade Mart Grand Pavilion. Sponsored by Imperial Toy, this year’s party will feature a live performance by KidzBop! Tickets are only $25 and proceeds benefit the Toy Industry Foundation. They are available on-site for purchase at registration or at the door.

Outside of the Dallas Market Center, below is a sample of some of the other events taking place:

State Fair of Texas (September 30- October 23)

Fair Park in Dallas

Texas Rangers vs. Tampa Bay Rays – ALDS Games 1 & 2 (September 30 & October 1)

Rangers Ballpark in Arlington

Dallas Cowboys vs. Detroit Lyons (October 2; 12:00pm Kickoff)

Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington

Mecum Auction (October 6-8)

Dallas Convention Center

Be sure to check out the Events Calendar on the Dallas Convention & Visitors Bureau website for more.

Lastly, the forecast now is calling for sunny skies and highs in the 80s next week. If you’re anything like me, don’t forget your layers as the Dallas Market Center will have the air conditioning on!
